if the game is pure crap, I genuinely "speed" it up with simple hacks. I've got like 2 or 3 types of games I don't cheat in AT ALL: RTTactics, stealth games (it's a nice challenge to sneak by and make us of tools/environment see Thief series) and games with a nice story (e.g. It's just my personal opinion and preferences. I'm not trying to say nobody needs a table. I can play a level for at least 1-2 hours and the persistent UI/HUD makes me worry about my monitor. The only "cheat", if it were really a cheat in the first place, that I need for this game is to turn off or disable UI/HUD. But it's not an issue exclusive to this game. My only complaint is the game might stutter if I play in fullscreen and move/pan the camera sometimes. Or maybe it's just me and my cultural things (I'm Japanese).
This is the kind of game that makes me laugh when I fail and encourages me to try again.
I've been a fan of RTT since the first entry in Commandos series. I even started DIII in Desperados difficulty and I'm still enjoying it. Ultimately the decisive factor was how much love they put onto this, DESPERADOS 3 WAS created with so much love it inspires me to write them a positive review.I agreed. That its another thing, this game gives so much freedom you will feel betraying yourself if you go for a guide. The game is hard, the guards react decently fast, and you will take hours figuring out the puzzle. Probably on the genre the bar its quite high, but on my casual perspective i can say. Which also serves to feed that sensation that all your characters are superheroes. Ironically the cities are the lamest, although the 3d feeling it gaves you gives you the vibe on being on something big. First the characters are lovely, Kate, John, Hector, etc, you may have your favourite but all serve a purpose narratively and in play, they exude charisma.
